A 60% keyboard drops the arrow keys, function row and navigation cluster, and reaches them through a Fn layer instead. It is the most common custom form factor, so cases, plates and PCBs are widely interchangeable. Pick one if you want the most desk space and are comfortable with layers.

What to check before you buy
- Check the case and PCB mounting standard (most use the "GH60" tray-mount pattern), especially if you want to swap PCBs later.
- Look at supported bottom rows and split options (split Backspace, split right Shift, HHKB blockers) and buy keycaps to match.
- Make sure the firmware supports remapping (QMK, VIA or Vial) so you can put arrows where you want them.
- Some kits are case-only; confirm the PCB, plate and stabilizers are included in the variant you pick.
